The Years from 1900-1918 are known to collectors as the "Golden Age of Postcards" and during this period, people sent postcards for any occasion.
This beautiful used vintage postcard depicts two lovely young victorian girls dressed for the season with mittens and muffs. There faces are so sweet. They are edged in gold and poinsettias with the greetings
It is addressed to Master Russell Jewell, Brooks, Maine with the message
'Dear Russell, Do good and be good. and may you have many happy Christmases and New Years is the rest of your friends- Mark -Alice.
I send you this because you like the girls so well.'
The card measures 5 1/2" x 3 1/2"
There are no rips or tears. Very mild rubbing is noted on the corners- There is postage ink on the bottom front and a slight crack along the left bottom edge - both can be seen in pictures however it does not take away from the innocence and beauty of the card.
