This is a pair of antique children's poem toy transfer plates by John Thompson, Glasgow ,Scotland.
Each plate measures 3/4" x 6" diameter with no chips or cracks
There is a floral scroll motif on the edges. The transfer on each plate is a deep green color.
The back edges of the plates show a 'tea' like staining from age and use along with some very fine crazing. The pictures are crisp and clean
One plate depicts a young woman in the garden with a poem that reads-
'N stands for Nemophila, lovely of hue, Like the sweet Summer sky is delicate blue'
The second plate depicts a young man playing a music box with a poem that reads-
'His is the Heather red, purple and grey Which reminds the poor Swiss of his home far away'
